“Move. You’re Not a Tree.”

But should we be? A tree? When we think of trees, we may think of shade, deep roots, old… or we may think of those little scrawny trees that are planted at the new build houses that can sometimes fail to survive. If you were a tree, how do you picture yourself?

In this life, we will have troubles. Guaranteed. We will go through experiences that are unyielding and unrelenting. We can choose to tossed around and uprooted…or we can choose to be planted firmly in the ground.

Isaiah 61:3 promises us that he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, festive praise in lieu of despair! In our right standing with God, we will be like great oaks that He has planted for his glory.

In other words, if we remain connected to the stream of life, which is God, we can remain mature, fruitful, and steady no matter the situations and trials we find ourselves in.

Let’s face it. Some of us aren’t able to just leave a situation we are in. Some of us feel stuck and unable to move. Some of us don’t have peace within ourselves. Friend, let me give you some hope. There is a way for you to have peace that passes all understanding. The world around you could be caving in, but you can still have an internal sense of safety. Peace is something you can’t fake. When you have it, you know it and you will never want to let it go.

When your roots are firmly planted, moving isn’t so easy after all.
